2008 AUSTRALIAN TITLES - Travis Best wins the 2009 Australian title at his home break of St Andrews Beach in Victoria. Followed by Danni Hand also from Victoria in second place, Rees Duncan Jnr in third place and Lance Milnes in fourth place. Other divisional winners include Rees Duncan in the Seniors, Bernie Huigsloot in the Masters, Graham Roberts in the Veterans, Melissa Hardy in the Womens and Russell Hudson in the B grade. 2008 AUSTRALIAN TITLES - A lay day was called for the event today with onshore solid 6ft conditions at most of the event options across the Mornington Peninsula. Next call for the event will be 7am tomorrow with the possibility of the event becoming mobile to some of the options towards western portside of the Peninsula. 2008 AUSTRALIAN TITLES - The Australian Titles kicked off today after pristine conditions over the weekend. Unfortunately the swell conditions dropped and wind turned onshore for the first day of competition. The first divisions to hit the water were the B grade, Veterans and Seniors and then the competition was called off with the next call at 7am Tuesday morning at Gunnamatta Beach.

2008 AUSTRALIAN TITLES - The pilgrammage to the Southern state of Victoria has started and some WA, QLD and NSW competitors have already arrived to enjoy 30 degree weather and clean uncrowded 4ft conditions on the multitude of reef breaks on offer today along the Mornington Peninsula.

2008 AUSTRALIAN TITLES - Only a few days left to get your entry in for the 2008 Australian Titles. This is the first time the event has been held outside of NSW since 2002 and huge thanks goes to Travis Best from Victoria for going to great efforts to organise the event.

This is also a great opportunity to visit this region of Victoria which has had consistent swell in the last few weeks in contrast to anywhere north on the Eastern Seaboard. Also has numerous wineries, micro-breweries, natural hot-spring thermal baths, horse trail rised along the beach, some of the best golf courses in the country, the Melbourne Cup race on the week after and the World Cup Rugby League . Should be a great week for good surf on the many reef and beach breaks, enjoying the region and catching up with friends.

We also have quite a few hot contenders who have entered so far - Current World Title and 08 World Tour champ Rees Duncan aiming for his 9th Australian open title, World number 3 Lance Milnes riding his new Predator, World number 4 Dale Randahl who is also leading the East Coast Circuit, Current World Seniors Champ Luke Herman, and local riders Bernie Huigsloot who sent us some great shots of him surfing in G-Land recently and of course Travis Best who will be surfing in his front yard....

EAST COAST COMP CIRCUIT - The point score allocation has been updated with results from the Coffs Harbour and Gold Coast events with Dale Randahl leading the pack and only one event to go for 2008. 2009 AUSTRALIAN WAVESKI TITLES - 2009 will be a monumental year for Waveski Surfing in Australia. Firstly the world titles will be held in Australia and the 2009 Australian titles will be the 30th year this event has been run. WSA invites expressions of interest to hold the 2009 Australian Waveski Titles. If you are interested in running the event in your area, please submit a proposal in writing to Rees Duncan. The closing date for applications has been extended until the AGM which will be held the week of the 2008 Australian Titles. 2009 WORLD WAVESKI SURFING TITLES - The WWSA have advised of a date change for the 2009 World Waveski Titles to the 5th - 12th of September, 2009 to hold the event at the optimum time for consistent swell. The location remains the same at Emerald Beach approximately 12kms north of Coffs Harbour New South Wales Australia. The event briefing and opening ceremony will be held on Friday 4 September 2009; time and location to be confirmed.

The organising committee apologises if people have been inconvenienced with travel plans. owever it is anticipated that with 12 months out from the event that not too many people will have incurred out of pocket expenses. AUSSIE DOMINATION AT WWT REUNION ISLAND - Congratulations to the Australian riders who attended the recent WWT in Reunion Island. In the mens, Rees Duncan won both legs of the event and in the womens Jackie Dillon won the first and Melissa Hardy won the second leg of the event.
