The Australian team returned home from the NZ open with some great results. The event was held at North Piha, Auckland in 3-5ft plus conditions. Throughout the weekend, Travis Best surfed exceptionally well on his brand new Dekka and scoring the only 10 point wave of the weekend. The conditions were contestable through to the Sunday afternoon and then deteriorated in the finals.
In the open division, Brett Cronin (currently residing in NZ) took out the title, with Lance Milnes coming a close second and Travis Best 4th. In the Masters division, Neil Decker was first and Kev Marshall second. In the women's, Jackie Dillon took second place.
Thanks to Gath Sports for their support. Some photo's of the comp location and other surfing spots the competitors managed to fit in whilst in NZ are below. Complete results and more photo's can be found on Waveski Info.
