World Titles Training Weekend, Feb 2007

The second training weekend for the 2007 World titles was held on the weekend of February 3,4. The first day started off at Flat Rock Beach Break at Ballina in clean 3-4 ft conditions with a long training session running through numerous heat combinations under the guise of Professional surf coach Steve Foreman. The sessions were intensive and focussed on endurance and are designed to make you more aware and think of strategy in a heat. Former world champ Darren Kearns provided valuable tips from previous experience at world titles. Everyone was buddied up to facilitate feedback with each of the surfers and promoted a great team atmosphere. After an exhausting morning session everyone opted for the afternoon off and a couple of the guys got a free surf in at North Wall in 5 ft wedging surf. The Sunday morning session was held at 3-4 ft surf at North Wall running through some more heat combinations and finished off with a late breakie at the local cafe. Over the weekend vast improvements in everyones surfing were evident .

There will be one last training session held the weekend of March 3 and 4 finishing off with a one day event on the Sunday. For both days, everyone is to meet at at the Fingal SLSC carpark at 7am NSW time/6am QLD time. Please email us at WSA if you are keen to attend the training day on the 3rd or one day event on the 4th of March.
