The third and final training weekend for the 2007 World titles & Tweed Goldy One Day event was held this weekend on March 3,4. In 4-5 ft clean conditions at Letitia spit at Fingal, the 2002 World Titles venue.

Professional Surfing Coach Steve Foreman ran the group through a series of heat practice in two sessions on the Saturday consolidating all the training that has taken place over the last two sessions. Saturday night, most of the participants regrouped at the new Decker residence on the canal for a BBQ and drinks and some video footage analysis from the day. Thanks to Neil and Dee for their great hospitality.

Sunday morning, the conditions at Letitia spit cleaned up with rights and lefts and a clear break from the local surfers. The Tweed Goldy One day event started off with 3-4 man 15 min heats, best two waves and the winners went through to round 3 for man on man heats. Round 2 saw those left from the first round fight it out to make the final spot in the man on man heats. Those that won the round 3 man on man heats went through to an A grade final. Those that conceeded went into a B grade final and the rest were relegated to a C division final.

Outstanding performances and improvements were seen from Scott Waldron, Matt Kennedy and Russell Hudson. The A grade final was a man on man heat with Steve Farthing and Darren Kearns with Steve winning the event.

Thanks to all that attended the training events, including Jason Drescher, Eric Massey and Lisa Ryan coming along for the Tweed Goldy One Day Event. A special thanks goes to Steve Foreman for coaching the group and Neil Decker for helping with the organisation of each of the events.
