The WSA is the national governing body for the sport of Waveski Surfing in Australia. It provides services for the sport and its members at the national and international level.
The WSA is responsible for maintaining ongoing incorporation requirements with the Office of Fair Trading and Australian Securities & Investment Commission. Including financial auditing and reporting requirements.
The WSA is responsible for determining the club to host Australian titles and provides leadership and assistance with the planning and organization of the event.
The WSA provides a newsletter, WSA News, every 4 months for its members, with the latest news on Waveski Surfing in Australia and from around the world.
The WSA is involved with organising personal injury and public liability insurance for the association, affiliated clubs and their members throughout Australia. The WSA Insurance also provides professional indemnity and public liability insurance for competition organisers and coaches from the associations and affiliated clubs.
The WSA operates the website, www.waveskisurfingaust.com, which is the central on-line resource for Waveski Surfing in Australia.
The WSA assists representative waveski surfers who attend the World Waveski Titles.
The WSA represents Australia with World Waveski Association policy decisions.
The WSA is the government liason that will be working on government recognition and funding on a National level. Allowing affiliated clubs and associations to seek government funding at the state or local government level.
The WSA will be working on leading the Australian waveski surfing community with member protection, anti-doping, gender equity, corporate governance and a range of other policies which its affiliates will be able to use as a benchmark.
The WSA will keep a register of past national champions, representative teams, award winners and records of decisions and minutes made by the WSA.
The WSA is also involved with fundraising to support these responsibilities and initiatives.
