PREWORLDS NEWS - Friday 4th September 2009

After last night’s AGM for Waveski Surfing Australia, Dale Randahl is now the President along with winning the East Coast Circuit title two years running – Congrats Dale. The other big national news is Waveski Surfing Australia will be affiliating with Queensland Canoeing in Australia - what a great move.

The swell dropped off a little today and there was a bit of rain around. I gave it miss and the body sure appreciated it. Darren Kearns was out there on his new Dekka shape which looks like its working well, another guy with a chance at his second title.

The opening ceremony drew a big crowd. There was a traditional indigenous greeting, the National Anthem from the local school kids followed by a reptile show which scared the …… out of the Guadeloupe guys, pity the surf doesn’t have the same effect.

First heat tomorrow at 7 am and looking forward “Going Banana’s”.
