WORLDS Day 3 - Monday 7th September 2009

Today we focused on getting through the open qualifying rounds which were round 1 reps and round 2 and 3 qualifiers. The only major upset was the elimination of Top South African rider Andre Burger, a tough heat but out surfed by Mark Spencer from Australia and Virgil Humbert from Guadaloupe. The final 3 heats of the day were womens round 1. Melissa Hardy current Australian champ wasn't at her ususal best and was religated to the repercharge round. Caroline Angibaud, the defending world champion was at her usual best with a commanding win in the first heat with a 13 point heat total.

Conditions were clean 3 to 4 feet for most of the day until the onshore wind came in the afternoon. Age division heats tomorrow looks like I've got another day off might do a bit of beach commentry.

Until tomorrow "Lets go Bananas"
