First look at the surf today and there was a definite increase in size, a solid 5 feet with bigger sets, much bigger. First in the water was seniors round 2, these 3 heats could have been finals. Rees Duncan, Dale Randahl, Blair Moore, Tony Cherry and Nigel Bryant just went for it, big aerials were the order of the day even a few cork screw airs were landed.
The New age division saw Andre Burger from South Africa step it up after his dissappointment in the Open division and Guillame Justine from the Island of Gaudaloupe went absolutely crazy in the last heat of the day to progress through to the next round in solid 6-7 foot conditions.
We had a first look at the Junior division today and the 3 young guys from Guadaloupe were all impressive lead buy their gun rider Virgil Humbert.
Today was the hottest surfing we've seen so far and its only going to get better from here. Tonight we're all gathering at Stetsons for a meal and premiere of Xaver Waslers new movie "B side"
Cant wait for tomorrow when the Open seeds enter the water. Reporting from Emerald Beach Coffs Harbour, still going Banana's.
